The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones shoots in for a takedown but Gilmore shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Happy Gilmore seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gilmore slaps away a takedown attempt from Jones, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Jones will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
A little feinted left hand from Gilmore on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Happy Gilmore has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Benson Jones.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hooper jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Frost takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Hooper punishes Frost's body with a nice straight punch.
Hooper leaves Frost with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Hooper is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Frost with a body shot.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Frost.

and Hooper counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Frost tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hooper swivels and escapes.

Frost seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Hooper shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Frost is backing up but Hooper catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Frost covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Hooper Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Jarrah Hooper tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duncan throws a body punch but Li moves out of range.
Li goes for a double leg but Duncan avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Duncan continues to drive forward.
Duncan throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Li feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Duncan is looking to stand up but Li isn't so interested in that idea.
Duncan has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Li has passed into side control.

Rush lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Howard up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Rush from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Howard's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Matt Riddle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Riddle needs to keep his hands up - Mertel had a free shot at his head there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Riddle lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Mertel has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Mertel and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Mertel engages and cracks Riddle with a massive lead left hook - Riddle tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Mertel is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!

Marc Wood had a terrible time trying to make weight. After initially coming in at 173.1, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. Stepping on the scales for a second time, he still failed to make the required weight and after much deliberation, his fight with Projetus Infinitus was cancelled.

Magyar pushes Catch off looking to stand but Catch dives back in and keeps control.

That was a close round but I would say that Mate Magyar will probably get the nod.
