Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between The Royal Savage (ranked 5424 p4p, 4960 weight class) and KJ Hoodwell (ranked 442 p4p, 413 weight class). Hoodwell has chosen Paralyzer as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savage rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hoodwell moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Savage lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hoodwell circles away quickly and effectively.
And Hoodwell tries to counter it with a takedown but Savage pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Savage swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
enabling Hoodwell to counter with a crisp jab.
Hoodwell takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Hoodwell on the wrong end of a nice hook.
The Royal Savage seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Savage throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hoodwell sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Durnin tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Glover is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Durnin with him. Durnin is trying to defend but Glover has an arm under the chin now! Durnin grimaces and is forced to tap out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gretel throws a looping overhand right but Laguera ducks down to avoid it.
Laguera on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Gretel throws a poor cross that misses
and Laguera connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Laguera misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Laguera gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

That kick from Laguera tenderised Gretel's leg. Gretel is trying to keep his angry face on.
Laguera darts in trying to clinch
and Gretel connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

A little feinted left hand from Gretel on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Gretel swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Laguera misses with an uppercut.
Gretel seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Peter Gretel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Gretel connects with a jab.
Laguera paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Gretel drops his hands momentarily and Laguera takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Gretel throws a body punch but Laguera moves out of range.
Laguera looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gretel is fending him off so far but Laguera persists. Nope, Gretel circles away and we're back to standing.
Gretel wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Laguera drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Gretel drops Laguera with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Laguera looks back up at him and smiles so Gretel waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Laguera is rocked!
Laguera moves out of range as Gretel strikes.
Laguera is still on wobbly legs! Can Gretel finish him?
Gretel misses with the combination.

Gretel's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Laguera connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Gretel scrambles back to his feet.
Laguera seems to have recovered his senses.
Laguera cracks Gretel with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Gretel misses with an uppercut. Laguera saw that one coming.
Laguera tries to move into range but Gretel moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Gretel on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Gretel comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Gretel throws a body kick that misses.
Gretel misses with an uppercut
and Laguera cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Laguera shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Peter Gretel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alejandro Laguera.
Laguera throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gretel's waist but Gretel gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Laguera off to one side.
Laguera keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Nice sprawl there from Gretel as Laguera shoots in.
Gretel throws the left hand but Laguera avoids the punch easily.
Laguera throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Gretel counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Laguera takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Gretel throws a body kick that misses
and Laguera counters with a leg kick.
Gretel fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Laguera looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Laguera throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Gretel bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Gretel uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Laguera.
Gretel lands a head kick!

Gretel lands a big head kick that sends Laguera tumbling to the mat! Gretel takes a step backwards and waves Laguera back to his feet - he wants the finish!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gretel cracks Laguera with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Alejandro Laguera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Laguera looks up at the clock. Bad move! Gretel lands a right hand from hell, dropping Laguera. Gretel pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
