Oquendo cracks Gerber with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Gerber has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Animal Fight Club in the buildup to the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boma buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Jones with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Jones uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Boma.
Jones on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Jones pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Boma tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Good standup being displayed there by Boma as he connects with a hook.
Jones ducks right into an uppercut from Boma.
Boma tries to clinch but Jones is having none of it.

Jones walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Boma has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Boma throws a combination. Jones tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Boma lands with an uppercut that bounces Jones off the cage and back into range.
Jones uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Boma.
Boma has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Jones pushes Boma up against the cage in a clinch.
Boma stalling in the clinch but Jones improves position.

Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Jones has closed the distance and engaged Boma in a clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A head punch blocked on the inside by Jones.
Jones can't find room to land a body shot as Boma controls the action.

Jones pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Jones feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Boma sprawling to the canvas! Boma rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Jones finish him?!
Boma is rocked!
Jones moves in close and cracks Boma with a massive right hand! Boma, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Jones!
