The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pain throws a leg kick that misses.

Pain instigates a clinch.
Tate is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Pain gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Pain pulls guard effortlessly.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pain is on top in guard.

Pain pushes down on Tate's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Tate on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Tate looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pain takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Tate on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Pain is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Tate to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Tate shrugs it off.
Pain takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Pain looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Pain seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Tate for as long as he can get away with.

Lang has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Fortune Thibodeaux told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!
