The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown attempt by Leighton or perhaps it was just good defense by Franklin , which made it look bad.

Franklin darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Leighton kicks off Franklin and gets to his feet.
Leighton could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Leighton shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Franklin sprawls well. Franklin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Leighton gets slowly back to his feet.

Leighton shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Leighton showed some decent athleticism there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Franklin has hold of Leighton's hands but Leighton slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Leighton is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Franklin !

Leighton has control of Franklin 's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Franklin regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Leighton tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Leighton is landing with some decent strikes but Franklin is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Nice sprawl there from Forsberg as Chimaev shoots in.
Chimaev misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Chimaev shoots for a double leg takedown but Forsberg sprawls well. He's pushed Chimaev's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Forsberg swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Khamzat Chimaev. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Forsberg uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Chimaev.

Quan slips a nice elbow through Frieberg's hands, connecting with Frieberg's forehead.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Quan in particular looking to stall.
Quan lands a big elbow - Frieberg is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Quan!
