The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez tries for a takedown but Muller sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Gomez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gomez shoots in looking for a takedown. Muller tries to sprawl out of it but Gomez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Muller manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gomez.

Gomez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Gomez has his foot on Muller's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Muller works his way back into a safe position though.
