A frustrated look appears on Wyte's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Wyte escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sakuraba dodges the punch combination from Wyte.
And Sakuraba tries to counter it with a takedown but Wyte pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Wyte throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sakuraba sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Wyte works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Popper lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Popper takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Popper throws a leg kick but Gonya checks it.
Gonya misses with a wild body shot.
Gonya uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Popper has time to react.
Popper blocks a head kick by Gonya.
Popper doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Gonya takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Gonya had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Popper defends it easily.

Gonya has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Popper is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Gonya.
Popper wants to control but Gonya is keeping him busy.
Popper in side control, just content to control the action for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

You can see the frustration on Gonya's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Popper remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Popper wants to control but Gonya is keeping him busy.
