The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kropotkin moves to clinch but Kay breaks away

and Kay counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Kropotkin!
Kay is working Kropotkin over with some ground and pound from side control.
Kropotkin is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Kropotkin is working hard here to advance position.
Kay connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Kropotkin some visible discomfort.

Peter Kropotkin's cut is getting worse.
Kropotkin is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Kropotkin tries to get to full guard but Kay has control of the leg.
Kay looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kropotkin with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Kropotkin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kay can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Kay throws a strike but Kropotkin rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.


Kropotkin drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kay looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kay looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kay!

Pentele has chosen Dreams of Retribution as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Kamei tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pentele was well out of range. Poor timing from Kamei.
Pentele unleashes a big counter combination but Kamei bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Kamei ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pentele moves away.

Kamei looks to score with a jab to the body but Pentele is just out of range.
Kamei closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Well Jones has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
