The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belyakov throws a hook to the side of Woody's head but Woody sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Belyakov! But no joy.
Woody moves out of range as Belyakov strikes.

Belyakov throws a series of punches but Woody avoids them all with ease.

Belyakov has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Woody tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Belyakov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Kirill Belyakov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Woody throws a nice looking combination but Belyakov bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Belyakov pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Woody back to the cage. Belyakov follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

and Belyakov counters with a crisp right hand that drops Woody! Belyakov lets Woody back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Woody is rocked!
Belyakov dances in with a quick combination. Woody is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Belyakov snaps Woody's head back. Woody stumbles backwards against the cage. Belyakov steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Woody's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Woody just didn't come prepared.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Kirill Belyakov!
Kirill Belyakov is the new welterweight champion!
A relieved looking Kirill Belyakov thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
