I think Schutte might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Groot Voël Paradys. The key to victory for Gerrie Schutte has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fortuin throws out a head kick that Shmakov doesn't see coming - it connects and sends Shmakov crashing to the mat face first! He's bounced up to his knees and is scrambling to get back to his feet and beat the count. He's up on 5 but still looks a bit groggy; will the referee allow it to continue??? He's taking a good look into Shmakov's eyes and has decided to let it go on!
Oh Shmakov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fortuin cracks Shmakov with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Shmakov is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Shmakov is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9,10! He's out! Shmakov could not beat the count!

Flip Fortuin decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kanor moves out of range of the body kick from Deeds.
Deeds darts in trying to clinch

and Kanor counters with a beautiful hook that drops Deeds to the mat! Will Deeds be able to recover his senses? The referee starts the count at 3 having sent Kanor to a neutral corner. 4,5,6 and Deeds is up. He looks OK to continue.

It looks like Dirty Deeds has been cut.

Kanor takes the fight into the clinch.
Kanor lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Deeds looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Deeds is looking to control Kanor's arms but Kanor gets an underhook and turns him. Now Deeds has his back to the ropes.
Kanor comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Kanor pushes off an throws an elbow but Deeds leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the ropes.

Deeds's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Kanor lands a shot to the body.
Kanor creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kanor digs a right hand underneath Deeds's ribcage. Deeds let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Kanor lands an elbow inside.

That has opened up Dirty Deeds's cut even more.
Kanor blocks an uppercut.
Deeds doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Kanor misses with a punch to the body.
Deeds misses with a body punch.
Kanor lands an elbow inside.
Kanor lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Deeds.
Kanor gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

The cut above Dirty Deeds's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Kanor makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Kanor.

Deeds is rocked!

Dirty Deeds's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Kanor lands with a short shot to the head.
Deeds is still on wobbly legs! Can Kanor finish him?

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Dirty Deeds's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
