The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Thomas fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Van Glost to the ground. Thomas is now in Van Glost's guard.
Van Glost wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Thomas manages to pass to side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Thomas has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Van Glost defend it? Thomas steps over the head and cranks it - Van Glost is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Thomas!

Mcgraugh gets caught flat footed, as Grundmann shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Grundmann forces his way into half guard.

Grundmann is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mcgraugh is just riding it out for now. Grundmann eventually gives up the hold.
Mcgraugh looks winded!

Grundmann is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
