The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cassel moves into the clinch.

Cassel breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Cassel changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Baly tries to avoid it but Cassel manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Baly to the ground. Baly escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Baly changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
No luck for Cassel with that takedown attempt.

Baly manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Cassel on his heels. He'll look to pass Cassel's guard now, I'm sure.

Cassel is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Cassel is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Baly defends well.
Baly throws a big elbow that misses.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Baly distracts Cassel with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Baly wants to control from the top but Cassel keeps moving.

Baly lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Baly is in close to Cassel's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Baly content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Cassel has locked up a guillotine! Cassel's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Baly is holding on here and Cassel must be using up a lot of energy. Baly has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Cassel gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Aoki goes for a double leg but Guerrero avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Guerrero continues to drive forward.

Yodachai comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gracie, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

It looked like Galang was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Holmes.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Holmes has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Ribeiro is holding his hands too far apart here. Blackbeard throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Ribeiro is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!
