We've been hearing reports that Johnson has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Boyka gets in close and tags Johnson with a short punch that almost sends Johnson to the mat! Oh Johnson is in big trouble! He turns his back on Boyka, trying to create some distance but Boyka rushes him, striking wildly and Johnson goes down! The referee tackles Boyka into the cage to end the fight! Boyka is one violent man!

Sheehy comes to the cage accompanied by Tree falls - Timber!. Teodor has chosen Pots and pans banging as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Atanase Teodor!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Jonathan Paton and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sheehy lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
A slapping leg kick lands for Sheehy.
Teodor walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Teodor doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Sheehy takes a jab right on the kisser.
Sheehy misses with a wild body shot.
Sheehy throws a leg kick that is checked
and Teodor counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Teodor scores with a nice body kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Teodor cracks Sheehy with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

It looks like Ethan Sheehy has been cut.
Ethan Sheehy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Teodor avoids a kick to the body.
Sheehy throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Teodor stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Sheehy tries to pull guard but Teodor forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Sheehy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Teodor takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Sheehy throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Sheehy is looking to wear down Teodor with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Sheehy blocks the body kick.
Teodor feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Sheehys jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Sheehy connects with a looping right hand.
Teodor throws a shot from downtown. Sheehy moves away and avoids it.
Sheehy seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Sheehy fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Teodor checks it well.

Sheehy throws a big shot that misses.
Teodor throws a head kick that half lands.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sheehy lands with a hook. Teodor tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Sheehy swings for the body but Teodor moves out of range.
Teodor paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Sheehy takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Teodor works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Teodor misses with a few strikes there.
Teodor takes one to the side of the head.
Teodor looks to land a body kick but Sheehy moved away.
Crunch! Teodor slams his shin into Sheehy's torso.
Sheehy tries to land a front kick but Teodor steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Teodor throws a combination that misses
and Sheehy counters with a one-two to the body.

Teodor scoring well with a low kick there.
Sheehy misses with an uppercut. Teodor saw that one coming.
Teodor has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Sheehy throws a hook but Teodor avoids it easily.
Teodor connects with a jab.
Sheehy looks to throw the jab but Teodor is out of range.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Teodor.
Sheehy takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Sheehy throws a lazy uppercut
and Sheehy takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Sheehy missing with a left hand there. Teodor was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Teodor.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sheehy. Teodor does a little dance to reset his feet.
Sheehy misses with a low kick.
Sheehy tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Teodor throws a big counter head kick but Sheehy avoids it with no problem.
Teodor throws a nice head kick!

This has been an exciting period of action!
Sheehy staying out of range there.
Sheehy throws a body punch but Teodor moves out of range.
Teodor swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Sheehy pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sheehy throws an off balance right hand
and Teodor counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Teodor lands a big head kick that sends Sheehy tumbling to the mat! Teodor takes a step backwards and waves Sheehy back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Sheehy is rocked!
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Teodor! Sheehy is out on his feet! Teodor rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Sheehy is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Sheehy is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Atanase Teodor! Atanase Teodor retains his lightweight title!
Atanase Teodor decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cobb drives through and clinches with Turturro against the cage.
Cobb tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Turturro has hold of one of Cobb's legs. Cobb is fighting the takedown attempt but Turturro gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Turturro slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Turturro pushes down on Cobb's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Cobb is trying to stand back up but Turturro is controlling him
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Turturro in particular looking to stall.
Cobb is in trouble now - Turturro has advanced to mount!

Cobb is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Turturro locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Cobb is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Lauro Turturro!
