Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dennis Baker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tommy Oliver!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Joseph Jones and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baker shoots in but no luck this time.

Oliver shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Baker napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Oliver throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Oliver wants to control but Baker is keeping him busy.
Oliver really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Baker. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Oliver swings around for an armbar but Baker sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Oliver's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Baker thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Baker's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Oliver wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Baker is now in half guard.

Baker wants to work for an arm triangle but Oliver is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Baker is controlling the pace.
Baker thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Oliver's head.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Baker working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Oliver wants to control but Baker is keeping busy.

Oliver is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Baker pulls his head out easily.

Baker lands with a punch from half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Baker is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Baker throwing shots but Oliver is blocking nicely.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Baker connects with a nice short shot to Oliver's temple.

Baker is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Oliver defends it well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Baker is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Oliver!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Baker manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Oliver has picked Baker up - he's going for a ride! Oliver dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Baker scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Oliver manages to mount him!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Baker can't escape the position.
Baker tries to lock up and control but Oliver gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Baker tries to improve his position but Oliver has taken his back! Oliver has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Baker tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Oliver pushes Baker away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Tommy Oliver!
