The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The Butcher bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Pertsa is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

The Butcher is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The Butcher wants to work for an arm triangle but Pertsa is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The Butcher seems to be looking for submissions.
Pertsa is trying to maintain the position but The Butcher is very close to passing his half guard.

The Butcher working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pertsa doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pertsa manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pertsa got a little sloppy there for a moment and The Butcher has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pertsa has managed to get both his arms back between The Butcher's legs - danger averted.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Randy The Butcher will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Pertsa throws the left hand but The Butcher avoids the punch easily.
Pertsa shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with The Butcher but The Butcher pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Pertsa is breathing heavily.

The Butcher throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Pertsa was covering up waiting for the punch and The Butcher finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The Butcher has gone for a leg lock! Pertsa slips out almost immediately though and dives into The Butcher's guard.

Pertsa reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Pertsa taps out! Nice BJJ there by The Butcher!

A very excited looking Randy The Butcher rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

Rothstein closes the distance and clinches up with Dick, looking for a takedown. Rothstein pushes Dick against the cage but Dick circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Diamond Dick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dick tries for a takedown but Rothstein sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Dick pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Rothstein is looking for the big counter here.
Rothstein tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Dick defends well and Rothstein ends up having to push Dick into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Dick throws a series of punches but Rothstein avoids them all with ease.

A nice side step and Rothstein releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Dick could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Rothstein takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Rothstein wants to improve his position but Dick is controlling well.
Dick is keen to just control but Rothstein is a slippery customer.

Rothstein has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Dick is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Rothstein.

Dick is working to tighten his grip on Rothstein's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Rothstein has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Dick is really squeezing tight and eventually Rothstein passes out! Dick breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
