The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drogo dives in for a single leg takedown but Petkov sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
We've been told by Drogo's head coaches at Boomerang!! PURE ELITE COACHES and Sparring Center that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Petkov feints and as Drogo raises his hands in defense, Petkov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Petkov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andy Shifter (ranked 365 p4p, 53 weight class) and Stephan Letter (ranked 478 p4p, 76 weight class). Shifter kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Lützenkirchen- Nutcracker . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shifter walks into a jab.
Shifter shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Letter defends it nicely.
Letter throws a counter combo.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Letter throws out a loose jab but Shifter uses good head movement to avoid it.
Shifter drops down looking for a counter takedown but Letter sprawls and moves away.

and Letter connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Letter ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Shifter moves away.

Shifter swings around for an armbar but Letter sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Shifter's guard.

Shifter is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Shifter looking for a sweep but Letter has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Shifter is wriggling around trying to escape.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Letter wants to stand but Shifter is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Shifter regains half guard.
Shifter wants to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shifter shoots in looking for a takedown. Letter tries to sprawl out of it but Shifter keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Letter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Shifter is defended easily by Letter.

Letter throws a lazy right hand but Shifter sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Letter throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Shifter colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Letter as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Shifter is left battered and dazed whilst Letter and his camp cheer!
