Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between German Sheapard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cro Copper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). German Sheapard had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 171.5lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Cro Copper is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Beaker looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Beaker is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Jones is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Jones has escaped and now he's on top!
Jones must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Jones got a little sloppy there for a moment and Beaker has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jones has managed to get both his arms back between Beaker's legs - danger averted.

Jones rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Beaker moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Beaker lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Jones down.

Beaker advances to full mount.
Jones is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Beaker prevents Jones from getting the reversal.

Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Beaker. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jones can do anything to dispel that myth.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Beaker drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Jones is still in real trouble! Can Beaker finish him?
Beaker has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Jones seems to have recovered his senses.
Beaker postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Jones bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Beaker and the fight is over!
