Bob throws a looping overhand right but Dol ducks down to avoid it.
Bob shoots in but Dol avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Dol unleashes a big counter combination but Bob bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Bob looks to score with a jab to the body but Dol is just out of range.

Dock tries a head kick but it misses.

Liguy shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dock napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Dock felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dock manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Liguy slips a nice elbow through Dock's hands, connecting with Dock's forehead.

Jan Molby had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 206.0lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

A looping hook to the body misses from Molby. Resende does a little dance to reset his feet.

Boag rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rojas moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Rojas looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

No joy there for Rojas, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rojas walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Rojas uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Boag.
Rojas goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Boag avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Rojas takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Rojas scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

It looks like Chris Boag has been cut.
It looks like Boag has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

Oh Ruas is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

and Ruas counters with a shoot takedown. The Hound fights it but they end up in guard.

Ruas shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. The Hound manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jake Butler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Semmy Cobb!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cobb's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Cobb duly obliges.

It looks like Jake Butler has been cut.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Butler is defended easily by Cobb.
Cobb fails to land with a series of punches.
Butler fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Cobb rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Butler moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Cobb cracks Butler with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Cobb stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Butler. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Butler takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Butler walks into a straight right hand from Cobb.
Butler takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cobb sizes up Butler with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Butler shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cobb as he avoids it easily.
Butler tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cobb swivels and escapes.
Butler tries to close the distance and clinch but Cobb swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Cobb drops Butler with a beautiful combination! Butler stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Cobb is looking for the KO!

Butler is rocked!
Butler misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Oh Butler is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
BOOM! Cobb lands a beautiful left hook that drops Butler. Butler tries to recover but Cobb is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Butler lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Semmy Cobb!
Semmy Cobb decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
