Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aniceto Platanares (ranked 5413 p4p, 538 weight class) and Scott Strait (ranked 23796 p4p, 744 weight class). Platanares's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Las Piedras Rodantes (El Tri de Mejico). Strait is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Feel So Numb. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Platanares stuffs the takedown.
Strait tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Platanares defends well and Strait ends up having to push Platanares into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Strait closes the distance and clinches.

Platanares has Strait pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Platanares pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Strait tumbling to the mat - Platanares dives into Strait's guard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cobb uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bell.
Sloppy strikes from Bell. Those never looked like landing.

Cobb lands a left and a right that send Bell crashing to the mat, dazed. Cobb thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Bell is rocked!

It looks like Doug Bell has been cut.
Cobb thows a left - swing and a miss!
Bell fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Cobb looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Cobb misses with a double jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bell walks straight into a right hand from Cobb - that's dropped him! Cobb jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Bell from any more punishment! Bell complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
