The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Submitter fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Phillups, pushing him back against the cage.
Phillups looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Submitter lands a right hand.
Submitter drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Phillups gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Phillups gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Submitter regains guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Submitter has his foot on Phillups's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Phillups works his way back into a safe position though.
