The fighters circling - Elder throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Sweeney has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Sweeney fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Sweeney lands with an uppercut that bounces Elder off the cage and back into range.
Elder misses with an uppercut
and Sweeney counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Sweeney lands a body shot.
Elder on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Elder definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

and Sweeney counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Elder thinking.
Elder tries to bum rush Sweeney with a series of wild strikes but Sweeney uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Sweeney wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Sweeney scores with a hook to the body. Elder takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Sweeney cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

and Sweeney counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Sweeney connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Elder's hands.

Elder is rocked!
Sweeney feints with a jab and clips Elder right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Elder is sent crashing into the canvas and Sweeney leaps in for the kill! Elder tries to get to his feet but Sweeney is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Elder is in need of a savior and steps in!

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Leifi Plomeros (ranked 1072 p4p, 145 weight class) and Edson Ribeiro (ranked 306 p4p, 50 weight class). Plomeros kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Ievan Polkka.
