Thiago scores with a leg kick.

Thiago throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Clinton was covering up waiting for the punch and Thiago finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Gragas steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Penn.
Gragas looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Penn leaves Gragas with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Penn throws out a counter right but Gragas avoids it with no problem.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

and Sand counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Jones is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Sand is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Jones is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Jones flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Sand anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Jones and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Sand slips an arm under Jones chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Sand has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Sand is squeezing on Jones like an anaconda would it's prey. Jones fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
