We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Putin has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Putin shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sammich defends it nicely.
Sammich fires out a quick counter leg kick but Putin just manages to avoid it.
Sammich with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Putin to score with a decent uppercut.

Putin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Putin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sammich is just riding it out for now. Putin eventually gives up the hold.

Putin is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sammich doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Putin.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

After the fight, Beast Putin was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

Bane lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
