The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Tafari ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Black moves away.
Tafari fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
The fighters circling - Tafari throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Black looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Tafari fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Black is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
Tafari tries to clinch up.

Black throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Tafari.

It looks like Hector Tafari has been cut.

McCartney feinted with a counter takedown.

McCartney is rocked!
Byrd fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Oh McCartney is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Byrd gets in close and tags McCartney with a short punch that almost sends McCartney to the mat! Oh McCartney is in big trouble! He turns his back on Byrd, trying to create some distance but Byrd rushes him, striking wildly and McCartney goes down! The referee tackles Byrd into the cage to end the fight! Byrd is one violent man!

An intense looking Ryker Byrd took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'My opponent had a terrible record coming into this fight but make no mistake - anyone i put my hands on inside this cage is in trouble. Grena is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Dean defends it well.
Grena uses his free foot to push down on Dean's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Dean.
Dean seems to have recovered his senses.
Dean is in a horrible position here. Grena smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Grena has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bottoms throws a series of strikes that have Quick backpedaling.
Bottoms connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Quick's hands.
Bottoms smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Quick tries a head kick but it misses.
Bottoms went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Bottoms feints a jab promting Quick to slip. Bottoms then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Quick slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Let's hope that Volland has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Volland is looking to cinch up a triangle. Keller throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Volland's body to avoid the submission. Volland has instead reached around Keller's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Volland arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
