Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Hathaway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Logan Xoom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Logan Xoom told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Xoom fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Hathaway shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Xoom's guard.
Xoom keeping moving, preventing Hathaway from controlling successfully.
Hathaway tries to free his leg and advance position but Xoom is retaining full guard.
Hathaway passes Xoom's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Hathaway is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Xoom is just riding it out for now. Hathaway eventually gives up the hold.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Xoom tries to clinch up.
Xoom looks to land a combination but Hathaway avoids it well.
Xoom throws a series of punches but Hathaway avoids them all with ease.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Hathaway.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hathaway throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Hathaway cracks Xoom with a big right hand but Xoom just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Xoom is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Hathaway asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Hathaway swings around for an armbar but Xoom sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Hathaway's guard.

Xoom drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hathaway manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Xoom has Hathaway in his guard.

Hathaway is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Xoom is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Xoom has escaped and now he's on top!
