James shoots for a takedown but Griffon saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

James changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Griffon tries to avoid it but James manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Griffon to the ground. Griffon escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
James takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Griffon has left one of his arms exposed and James doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Griffon screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

James fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sebathia sprawls well initially but James persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

James is looking for a kimura but Sebathia is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for James to get the leverage.
Sebathia wants to get back to full guard.
Sebathia really doesn't want to stay on the ground with James. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
James is looking to advance position but Sebathia won't allow it.
Sebathia is staying active underneath James, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
James wants to pass the guard but Sebathia is defending well.
James could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

James is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Sebathia is surviving well by controlling James's body position as best he can.

James looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Sebathia turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips James off and cradles Sebathia's limp body as James celebrates with his corner.
