The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomaz keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Despite the aggression on Gomaz's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Gomaz throws a right and a left that both miss.
Wag feints a jab promting Gomaz to slip. Wag then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Gomaz slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Wag changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gomaz looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Gomaz tries to buck Wag off but Wag is having none of it.
Wag works to advance to full mount. Gomaz defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wag takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Wag has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Wag's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
