The judges for this bout are Josh West, Jeff Smith and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGrady swings away with a leg kick that misses.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as McGrady checks a leg kick.
McGrady scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Derks doesn't seem bothered though.
Derks takes one on the button.
Derks lands a leg kick that knocks McGrady off balance momentarily.
McGrady scores with a one two! Derks had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

It looks like Nate Derks has been cut.

McGrady changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Derks looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McGrady wants to control but Derks is keeping him busy.
Derks tries to improve position but can't.
McGrady tries to stand but Derks is controlling his head.
McGrady working the ground and pound but Derks is defending the strikes.
Derks regains half guard, as McGrady was trying to land strikes.
Derks tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

McGrady wants to work for an arm triangle but Derks is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Derks is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of McGrady's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take McGrady's back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Derks has McGrady flattened out and is raining down punches.
Derks is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at McGrady. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
McGrady is keeping busy.
Derks looking to hold on to the position here but McGrady rolls and ends up regaining guard.

McGrady has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Derks can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McGrady can do anything to dispel that myth.
Derks is pushing down on McGrady's leg trying to pass to half guard. McGrady is fighting to maintain full guard but Derks has managed to sneak the leg through.
McGrady is trying to stand up here but Derks is controlling him well.
Derks looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

McGrady bucks up and tries to throw Derks off but instead Derks has got his back!

McGrady is trapped and Derks is scoring with shots to the head and body.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Derks. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

Derks is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. McGrady has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Derks has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! McGrady taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Derks doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Chi comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Glorious kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Chi slips a jab and a cross from Paitich.
Chi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Paitich as he avoids it easily.
Horrible takedown attempt by Chi or perhaps it was just good defense by Paitich, which made it look bad.
Chi tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Paitich manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Paitich shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Chi as he avoids it easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Chi looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Chi throws a sloppy head kick and Paitich moves out of range easily.
Chi misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Chi closes the distance but Paitich moves to the side

and Paitich counters with a nice double leg into guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Chi takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Chi wants to escape the position.

Paitich is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Chi knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Chi for a finish.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Paitich stuffs the takedown.
Chi dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Chi tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Paitich defends well and Chi ends up having to push Paitich into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Paitich shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Chi sprawls well. Chi wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Paitich gets slowly back to his feet.

Vien Chi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.

MacManus manages to capitalize on a mistake by Tarly to take his back!
