The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Emir bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Silva's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Emir has hold of Silva's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Silva manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Emir is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Silva is surviving well by controlling Emir's body position as best he can.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Emir. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Silva wants to try and get back to his feet.
Emir is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Silva is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Emir goes for an armbar but Silva turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Silva.
Silva is looking to stand up but Emir won't let him.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Emir has his foot on Silva's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Silva works his way back into a safe position though.
Emir controls Silva momentarily but Silva frees himself.
Silva would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Silva wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Emir's closed guard. He's half up but Emir has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Emir pivots and extends the arm, Silva falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Emir! Well done that man!
