Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Potter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Beleleu Petkovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Beleleu Petkovic was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Potter is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Petkovic's half guard.
Potter keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Potter winds up and cracks Petkovic with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Petkovic has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Potter is working away from the top position though.
Potter is taking a breather. Petkovic says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Petkovic tries to get to full guard but Potter has control of the leg.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Potter frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Potter trying to control but Petkovic is having none of it.
Petkovic working to try and regain half guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Petkovic can do anything to dispel that myth.

Potter looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Potter with shots to the head and body - Petkovic looks very uncomfortable down there.

Potter has control of Petkovic's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Petkovic regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Potter looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Potter content just to control the position here.

Potter seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Petkovic for as long as he can get away with.

Potter is landing with some decent strikes but Petkovic is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Petkovic is trying desperately to improve position.

Potter quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Potter but it's paid off an Petkovic is forced to tap! Nice work by Potter.

Thork fails to land the takedown.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Thork has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Thork shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
A punch combination from Matthews misses.
Matthews misses with a hook.
Matthews attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Thork throws out a counter right but Matthews avoids it with no problem.

Matthews stalks Thork and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Thork's face. Thork staggers backwards, shaken.
Matthews lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Matthews lands a big head kick that sends Thork tumbling to the mat! Matthews takes a step backwards and waves Thork back to his feet - he wants the finish!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Matthews bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Thork is still on wobbly legs! Can Matthews finish him?
A slow jab from Thork misses its intended target.
Matthews cracks Thork on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Thork falls backwards against the cage. Matthews follows up with more strikes that drop Thork to his knees. Matthews keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Thork! This one is all over!

Pierno comes to the cage accompanied by Umberto Tozzi - Gloria. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. We've been informed that McGee has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
McGee ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Pierno tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Pierno has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics McGee uses from the top position.
Pierno bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in McGee's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now McGee is on top in guard.

Gray feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends MacFarlane sprawling to the canvas! MacFarlane rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Gray finish him?!

MacFarlane is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gray throws a leg kick which misses MacFarlane's front leg but catches the back leg as MacFarlane tries to avoid it.
Oh MacFarlane is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Gray connects with a picture perfect right hand that knocks MacFarlane out cold! This one is over in a flash!

Our winner, Gabriel Gray, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.

Batroc avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Kelley throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Batroc makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

and Batroc counters with an outside leg kick.
Batroc chopping away at his opponent's legs.
We've been told by Kelley's head coaches at The Iron Palace that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Batroc tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Kelley is able to avoid easily.

Batroc uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kelley.

Batroc throws a chopping leg kick but Kelley manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Kelley bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Batroc's head backwards.

Kelley ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Batroc's jaw. Batroc's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Kelley does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.

A very excited looking Liam Kelley rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
