Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Anton Kruglov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Winkle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Winkle told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Anton Kruglov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, John Winkle!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Daniel Bishop and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Winkle walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Winkle fails with the takedown
and Kruglov counters with a right hand to the body.
A lazy left from Kruglov finds it's target.

Winkle shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Winkle was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Winkle swings around for an armbar but Kruglov sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Winkle's guard.

Kruglov stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kruglov dips to his left and cracks Winkle with an uppercut!
The fighters circle momentarily. Kruglov darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Winkle walks into a left hand.

Winkle is rocked!

Kruglov closes the distance and clinches.
Winkle is still on wobbly legs! Can Kruglov finish him?
Winkle jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kruglov walks away with a smile on his face. Winkle gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Kruglov lands a big right hand that sends Winkle crashing to the mat! Kruglov stays standing though and waves Winkle back to his feet!
Kruglov cracks Winkle on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Winkle falls backwards against the cage. Kruglov follows up with more strikes that drop Winkle to his knees. Kruglov keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Winkle! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bryant throws a lazy right hand but Whitaker sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Bryant swings for the body but Whitaker moves out of range.
Whitaker has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Bryant thows a body kick. Whitaker tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Some bone on bone action there as Whitaker checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Whitaker moves away from the strike by Bryant.
Bryant tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Bryant pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Whitaker clinches up with Bryant and pushes him back against the cage.
Whitaker creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Bryant's defenses.

It looks like Angus Bryant has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bryant pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Bryant is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

McCaffrey tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Jones connects with a looping right hand.

Jones keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
McCaffrey shoots in looking for a takedown but Jones manages to keep the fight standing, pushing McCaffrey's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Jones moves into the clinch.
Jones is pressed up against the cage. McCaffrey has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jones down to the mat. Jones avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Jones lands a big uppercut and McCaffrey crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but McCaffrey looks OK. Jones waves McCaffrey back to his feet!

McCaffrey gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Jones counters with a right hand to the body.
Oh McCaffrey is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rupert McCaffrey. That's going to take a lot out of him.
BOOM! Jones lands a beautiful left hook that drops McCaffrey. McCaffrey tries to recover but Jones is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and McCaffrey lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Funnie really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gracie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Funnie gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Down is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at London MMA Club, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
