The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGregor will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
McGregor fails with the takedown

and Greenberg counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Greenberg.

Greenberg gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Greenberg is looking for a kimura but McGregor is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Greenberg to get the leverage.
McGregor is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Death Valley Training Facility that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Greenberg connects with a nice short shot to McGregor's temple.
Greenberg thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed McGregor's head.
