The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Hudson throws a head kick but Smith moves out of range.
Hudson takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Smith throws a head kick that half lands.
A nice inside leg kick there by Smith. That's going to slow Hudson down.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Smith.
Hudson misses with the combination.
Hudson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hudson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Smith.

The crowd cheers as Smith lands an impressive looking overhand right. Hudson doesn't seem phased though.

Smith throws a jab but it's blocked by Hudson.

Smith lands a big head kick that sends Hudson tumbling to the mat! Smith takes a step backwards and waves Hudson back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Hudson is rocked!
Smith drops Hudson with a straight right hand, right on the button! Smith follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Maurice Smith!
A relieved looking Maurice Smith thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Archer will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Zaki throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Archer lands with a right hand.

Zaki closes the distance and clinches.

Archer drags the fight down to the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Archer holds on and takes a little breather.
Archer's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

That was a close second round but I would say that Anton Archer will probably get the nod.

Archer manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Zaki looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Archer with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
