Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Charly Jimenez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vitaly Dunaytsev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jimenez comes to the ring accompanied by Matador. Vitaly Dunaytsev struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 171.6lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Vitaly Dunaytsev will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dunaytsev fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Jimenez tries to clinch but Dunaytsev is having none of it.

Dunaytsev lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Jimenez is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Rabid Dog, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Jimenez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dunaytsev walks away with a smile on his face. Jimenez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jimenez shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Dunaytsev eats them both and turns towards Jimenez to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Dunaytsev has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Charly Jimenez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jimenez feints a jab promting Dunaytsev to slip. Jimenez then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Dunaytsev slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Bayless will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A telegraphed right hand from Gonzalez misses the target.
Gonzalez feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Baylesss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Bayless throws a series of punches but Gonzalez avoids them all with ease.
Gonzalez shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bayless as he avoids it easily.
Bayless has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Bear's Den in the buildup to the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Herring.
Martin fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Herring looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
A slow jab from Martin misses its intended target.

Herring thows a leg kick but Martin checks it
and Martin makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Martin throws an overhand right that lands on Herring's shoulder, as Herring tries to avoid the shot.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Herring has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Martin looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Martin backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Herring's temple! It sends Herring violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Martin celebrates and the doctors try to help Herring!

A relieved looking Renny Martin thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
