The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James misses with a straight right.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from James.
James drops Verk onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Verk is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
It looks like Dominick Verk has been cut.
Verk's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Verk will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
James digs a good body shot into Verk's ribs.

James throws a looping overhand right but Verk ducks down to avoid it.
James tries to bum rush Verk with a series of wild strikes but Verk uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
James throws a jab when Verk was well out of range.
Verk connects with a crisp jab.
James swings widly with a right hand
and Verk counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Verk uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before James has time to react.

A looping hook to the body misses from James. Verk does a little dance to reset his feet.
Verk ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Verk slips a straight right by James.
James uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Verk.
James fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
James drops Verk with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Verk looks back up at him and smiles so James waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Verk is rocked!
James avoids the body shot from Verk.
Verk is still on wobbly legs! Can James finish him?
James thows a left - swing and a miss!
Dwayne James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Verk with the counter takedown but James avoids it easily.
James definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
James finds Verk's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Verk flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. James lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Verk will be OK.
