Cherry finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under McBain's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Cherry falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Yang has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shimizu misses with a hook.
Senko lands a jab.
Senko throws a head kick but Shimizu moves out of range.
Senko shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shimizu but Shimizu pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Shimizu throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Senko counters with a stiff right hand.
Senko cracks Shimizu with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Senko misses with a double jab.
Shimizu scores with a sloppy right hand. Senko should have avoided that one.
Shimizu swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Shimizu does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Shimizu fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Senko checks it well.

Senko has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Senko there as he acknowledges the shot.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

It looked like Senko was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Senko ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Shimizu will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Shimizu throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Senko stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Senko lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Shimizu at a distance.
Shimizu fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Senko on the side of the head.

Senko is rocked!
Senko moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Oh Senko is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Senko is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A slapping body kick lands there for Shimizu.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Senko pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Shimizu shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Senko manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Shimizu passes Senko's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Shimizu is keen to just control but Senko is a slippery customer.
Shimizu winds up and cracks Senko with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Shimizu is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Shimizu scores with a big shot! Senko's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Senko! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
