The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rodri is defended easily by Ono.
Ono tries to counter with a takedown but Rodri is quick to defend against it.

Ono changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rodri tries to avoid it but Ono manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rodri to the ground. Rodri escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Munenori Ono.

More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Watana from any more punishment! Watana complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
