The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dar is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Chao's half guard.
Dar wants to take a breather but Chao is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dar winds up and cracks Chao with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Dar uses his free foot to push down on Chao's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Chao.
Dar lands a big elbow.

Dar is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Chao to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Chao shrugs it off.
Chao really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Chao has left one of his arms exposed and Dar doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Chao screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

Pulkkinen really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Pulkkinen looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Mikhailovsky manages to get his head free but now Ruiz has transitioned to an armbar! Mikhailovsky grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Ruiz! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

Undercard bout

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Paddy Kubiak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matty Minchin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paddy Kubiak had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 146.4lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Gooseman swings wildly with an uppercut but Blitz uses good head movement to avoid it.

After the fight, Zak Rosenstock was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
