Boycheck's coach down at St Petersburg MMA Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Boycheck's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Fernandez goes for a double leg but Boycheck avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Boycheck continues to drive forward.

We've been hearing that Smith has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Loco has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Smith is on him like a limpet, forcing Loco back against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Smith's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


A lazy left from Loco finds it's target.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Loco lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Smith has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Smith and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Smith is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Loco can do to turn this around?

Loco takes the fight into the clinch.

Loco breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Loco feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Smith sprawling to the canvas! Smith rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Loco finish him?!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
and Loco counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Smith! He's just covering up as Loco starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

It looks like Tony Abbot has been cut.

Oooooh!!! Kovalenko has knocked Abbot down with a huge combo! Kovalenko steps away and waves a wobbly Abbot back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kovalenko Throws a clean left jab. Kovalenko Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Abbot's chin! Abbot crumbles to the ground and Kovalenko follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Kovalenko!
