The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pink throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ert stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Pink ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Ert fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pink avoids it really well and circles away.
Ert tries for a takedown but Pink circles away easily
and Pink cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Ert shoots in for a takedown but Pink shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Rupert Pink has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ert Ert.

Pink drops Ert with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Ert looks back up at him and smiles so Pink waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Ert is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pink throws a monster overhand right that drops Ert! Pink follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

Erikson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Kenobi connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Erikson scrambles back to his feet.
Kenobi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Erikson swivels and escapes.
A shot to the body from Kenobi misses

and Erikson counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Erikson has hold of one of Kenobi's legs. Kenobi is fighting the takedown attempt but Erikson gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Kenobi looking for a triangle here. Erikson is fighting it but it looks tight! Kenobi pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Erikson is tapping out - this one is all over!

Chokehold plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Birmbaum misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Chokehold.

and Birmbaum counters with a single leg into guard. Chokehold didn't expect that.

Birmbaum wants to control from the top but Chokehold keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Birmbaum pushing down on Chokehold's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Birmbaum wants to free his trapped foot but Chokehold is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Chokehold is defending against the submission attempts here by Birmbaum.
Chokehold is trying to maintain the position but Birmbaum is very close to passing his half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Birmbaum uses his free foot to push down on Chokehold's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Chokehold.

Birmbaum has control of Chokehold's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Chokehold regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Birmbaum looking to control but Chokehold is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Chokehold tries to buck Birmbaum off so he can stand up but Birmbaum has got his back now - this could be big trouble! He's slapped on a rear naked choke that looks really tight! Chokehold falls backwards, slamming Birmbaum to the mat but Birmbaum holds on tight! Chokehold is forced to tap and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Chance Birmbaum!

Dieks keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Dieks swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Acosta counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Acosta .
Dieks looking to control.

Acosta pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dieks is keeping the position for now.
Dieks is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Acosta trying to control but Dieks is working from the bottom.

Dieks escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Acosta gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dieks is looking to stand up but Acosta isn't so interested in that idea.
Acosta wants to control from the top but Dieks keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dieks is looking for a triangle but Acosta pushes his legs off easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Acosta is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Acosta won't allow Dieks to sweep him here.
Dieks keeping moving, preventing Acosta from controlling successfully.

Dieks has his foot on Acosta 's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Acosta works his way back into a safe position though.

Acosta drops back looking for a leg! Dieks is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dieks manages to kick Acosta off! Acosta jumps back into Dieks's guard.

Dieks has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Acosta can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Acosta is pushing down on Dieks's leg trying to pass to half guard. Dieks is fighting to maintain full guard but Acosta has managed to sneak the leg through.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Dieks is looking to get back to is feet but Acosta passes into side control.
Dieks is trying to improve his position.

Acosta in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Dieks is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
