The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Spencer feints the counter takedown.
Silva jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Silva throws the left hand but Spencer avoids the punch easily.
Silva throws a hook but Spencer avoids it easily.
Lance Spencer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva misses with a wild body shot.
A jab from Silva misses.
Spencer looks for the body kick but Silva saw that one coming.
Spencer fails to land the takedown.
Silva moves out of range of the body kick.
Spencer throws a head kick that misses.
Spencer tries for a takedown but Silva sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Spencer tried to score with a low kick but Silva checks it.
Spencer defending well as Silva loads up on a big left hand.
Spencer shoots in for a takedown but Silva shows good takedown defense.
Franz Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lance Spencer.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Spencer shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Silva as he jumps to the side.

Silva throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Silva drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Silva slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Silva is working Spencer over with some ground and pound from side control.

Silva seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Spencer for as long as he can get away with.

Silva tries for a kimura but Spencer is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Spencer seems a little lost for a moment, as Silva dominates the positioning.
Silva has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Silva is working to tighten his grip on Spencer's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Spencer has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Silva is really squeezing tight and eventually Spencer passes out! Silva breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

A relieved looking Franz Silva thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.

Rockamoly drops his hands momentarily and Diet takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Rockamoly is trying hard to land a takedown here. Diet sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Diet lands a nice shot to the body.
Diet connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Rockamoly's hands.
Rockamoly shoots in for a takedown but Diet shows good takedown defense.
Diet stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Whitford Rockamoly. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rockamoly shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Diet defends it nicely.
Diet scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Rockamoly takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Diet slaps away a takedown attempt from Rockamoly, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Diet stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Diet wants it to stay on the feet.
Rockamoly shoots in but no luck this time.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rockamoly is defended easily by Diet.
Nice straight punches there by Diet. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Diet.

Diet keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

and Diet counters with a huge right that knocks Rockamoly out cold! Diet is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!
