The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vera is looking to clinch but Xll is avoiding it.
Vera swings for the body but Xll moves out of range.
Xll swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Xll looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Vera throws an overhand right that lands on Xll's shoulder, as Xll tries to avoid the shot.
Vera avoids a punch combination nicely.
Xll feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Vera's calf.
Xll lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Vera scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Xll tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Xll shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Vera eats them both and turns towards Xll to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Frost shoots in looking for a takedown. Mcfly tries to sprawl out of it but Frost keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mcfly manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Frost shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mcfly but Mcfly pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Milne changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Mourtneant fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Mourtneant lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Milne up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Mourtneant from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Milne's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

A relieved looking Guy Mourtneant thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
Harry Milne was interviewed post fight and said 'Congratulations to Guy, he's a worthy champion but I will be back for that belt in the future.'.
