That was a close round but I would say that Bobby Jesse will probably get the nod.

I really don't envy Johnson right now.

Jesse feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rampage Chang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Curtis Dean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chang's entrance music is Elephant Man ft Ding Dong Dip Again. A fine choice. Curtis Dean struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 171.5lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Curtis Dean is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shane tries to clinch there but Regan circles away.

Regan feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Shane stalks Regan and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Regan's face. Regan staggers backwards, shaken.

Regan keeps the fight on the outside.

Shane closes the distance and clinches.

Shane breaks from the clinch.
Shane tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Shane is looking to slow Regan down with leg kicks.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Regan is defended easily by Shane.
Shane bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Shane throws a combination. Regan tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Shane is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Regan defends well.

Regan takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Regan seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Shane for as long as he can get away with.

Floyd has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics James uses from the top position.
