The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kim shoots in looking for a takedown. Giorgio tries to sprawl out of it but Kim keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Giorgio manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Giorgio scores with a push kick.
Giorgio definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Kim bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Giorgio bucks up and tries to throw Kim off but instead Kim has got his back!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Giorgio looking very determined here, making life difficult for Kim.
Giorgio knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kim on the ground.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Kim is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Giorgio has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Giorgio tries to escape but Kim has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Kim has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Kim connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Giorgio to escape the position.

Kim is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Giorgio defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Kim looking to break Giorgio's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Giorgio remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Kim will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Kim throws strikes from the back but Giorgio rolls nicely and manages to end up in full guard. Nice work by Giorgio.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kim accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Kim slips a nice elbow through Giorgio's hands, connecting with Giorgio's forehead.

Kim is looking to work some ground and pound but Giorgio has wrist control.

Kim is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Giorgio utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Kim passes Giorgio's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Kim not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Dong Kim dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Giorgio leaves Kim with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
As Kim tries to get set, Giorgio tries to push him back and clinch up but Kim manages to avoid the attempt.
Kim takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Giorgio lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Kim is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Giorgio is pressed up against the cage. Kim has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Giorgio down to the mat. Giorgio avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Gigi Giorgio has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dong Kim.
Kim shoots and misses
and Giorgio counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
A slapping body kick lands there for Giorgio.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Kim wants a takedown but no success here.

Kim gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kim has gone for a leg lock! Giorgio slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kim's guard.

Kim has a closed guard, preventing Giorgio from standing up.

Giorgio stands up and waves to Kim to follow him.
Kim throws a body punch but Giorgio moves out of range.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Kim.
Kim has a takedown stuffed.
Giorgio is looking to counter the offense by Kim and move into the clinch.
Giorgio keeps the fight on the outside.
Giorgio ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Giorgio fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Kim has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Kim throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Giorgio changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Kim keeps the fight on the outside.

Kim shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Giorgio's guard.

Giorgio is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Kim presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Kim working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Kim throws an elbow that misses. Giorgio uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kim's guard. Nice move by Giorgio!

Kim manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Giorgio manages to get himself to full guard.

Kim stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Giorgio swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Giorgio has momentary wrist control but Kim slips an elbow through the middle.

That's time! Giorgio's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Fa Arodo darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Quincy's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Fa Arodo before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.

Plouman escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Merrill gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Plouman has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Merrill is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Plouman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Charbonneau ducks right into an uppercut from Beltshazar.

No joy there for Beltshazar, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ryan Beltshazar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Charbonneau is trying hard to land a takedown here. Beltshazar sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Beltshazar is looking to cinch up a triangle. Charbonneau throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Beltshazar's body to avoid the submission. Beltshazar has instead reached around Charbonneau's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Beltshazar arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
