These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Griffin lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

It looks like Veni Sada has been cut.
Sada shoots in for a takedown but Griffin shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Griffin fails to land with a series of punches.
Sada dives in and grabs Griffin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Griffin pushes down on Sada's head and hops out.

Griffin darts in and clinches Sada up against the cage.
Sada lands a damaging elbow.

Sada gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Shawn Burton.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Raid stuffs the takedown attempt from Magee. Magee gets slowly back to his feet.
Magee fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Raid is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Magee.
Magee throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Raid's waist but Raid gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Magee off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Spazzy Magee. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Magee changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Raid tries to avoid it but Magee manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Raid to the ground. Raid escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Raid throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Magee feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
