The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shepherd closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Jackson quickly recovers to half guard.
Jackson looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Shepherd tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jackson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Shepherd lands a nice short elbow.
Shepherd seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Shepherd is nestled in close to Jackson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

It looks like Jack Jackson has been cut.
Shepherd throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jackson attempts a counter takedown but Shepherd avoids it well and moves away.
Oh Jackson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Shepherd looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Jackson can't hide his disappointment, as Shepherd celebrates the victory.

Witczak regains full guard. Nicely done.
Jimm knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Witczak on the ground.

Jimm sitting in guard doing not very much at all here. Witczak doesn't need a second invitation though! He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Jimm paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Witczak - great work!

Butts makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Butts is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Work has hold of Butts's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Butts manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Work wants to control but instead Butts manages to regain half guard.
Butts is doing well to control the position and prevent Work from advancing to side control.

Boner chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Schubert can pounce on him.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brunson's corner calls for a 1-2. Brunson obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

It looks like Luke Dawson has been cut.
Dawson throws a hook but Brunson blocks it.
Brunson keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Brunson has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Brunson thuds his right hand into Dawson's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Brunson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Brunson throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Dawson on the side of the head.
Brunson tries to clinch but Dawson is having none of it.

Brunson lands a nice hook to Dawson's body. Dawson takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Brunson cracks Dawson with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Brunson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dawson moves away.
Brunson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A looping hook to the body misses from Dawson. Brunson does a little dance to reset his feet.
Brunson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Brunson throws an elbow but it misses.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Brunson just misses with a elbow thrown towards Dawson's brow.
Dawson blocks an elbow strike.
Dawson avoids a wild elbow strike from Brunson.
Brunson pushes off an throws an elbow but Dawson leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Brunson lands an elbow inside that Dawson shrugs off.
Brunson goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Brunson lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Luke Dawson's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Brunson blocks an uppercut.
Brunson creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Dawson's defenses.
Dawson tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Dawson blocks the elbow strike.
Dawson lands a body shot.
Brunson throws an elbow but it misses.
Brunson throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Dawson fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Brunson throws an elbow but it's blocked.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dawson lands with a short shot to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Luke Dawson's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

After the fight, Doyle Brunson was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

Tow will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Tow shoots in looking for a takedown but Axiom manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tow's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Ragnar Axiom has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Big Tow.
Tow darts in looking for a takedown but Axiom gets double underhooks and turns Tow into the cage.
