The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Abrams falls off balance throwing a combination
letting Veins counter with a right hand.
Abrams tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Veins was well out of range. Poor timing from Abrams.
Veins scores with a crisp jab that stopped Abrams in his tracks.
Veins darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Veins lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Veins scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Veins moves out of range as Abrams strikes.
Scottie Veins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Abrams misses with a lunging right hand
and Abrams takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Abrams needs to keep his hands up - Veins had a free shot at his head there.
Veins looks to land a combination but Abrams avoids it well.
Abrams throws out a loose jab but Veins uses good head movement to avoid it.

Veins tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Abrams was well out of range. Poor timing from Veins.

Abrams throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Abrams takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Veins fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Abrams manages to avoid it.
Abrams takes one to the chin there.
Veins connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Abrams uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Veins.
Veins sets himself, and Abrams steps forward looking for the clinch! Veins avoids it this time.
Veins lands with a right hand.
Scottie Veins is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Good exchange - Veins coming out on top.
Abrams has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Abrams there as he acknowledges the shot.
Veins scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

Veins gets caught flat footed, as Abrams shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Abrams works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Veins is looking to get back to is feet but Abrams passes into side control.

Veins bucks up and tries to throw Abrams off but instead Abrams has got his back!
Veins is trying to get back to his feet but Abrams has full control of the position and if anything, Veins has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Veins is trying to defend against the choke here but Abrams has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Abrams Tightens the hold and Veins taps out furiously! Abrams displays superior BJJ to win the fight.

Hlasko fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hlasko swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Podolski counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Hlasko wants to get back to full guard but Podolski has passed into side control.
Podolski tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Podolski stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Sloppy strikes from Hlasko. Those never looked like landing.
Hlasko throws a series of punches but Podolski avoids them all with ease.
Podolski tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hlasko defends well and Podolski ends up having to push Hlasko into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Hlasko lands with a nice body punch.
A nice combination there by Hlasko.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hlasko misses with a wild combination.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hlasko fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Podolski on the side of the head.
Hlasko scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

It looks like Lucas Podolski has been cut.
Hlasko lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Podolski is rocked!

Podolski bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Oh Podolski is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Podolski is working to tighten his grip on Hlasko's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Hlasko has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Podolski is really squeezing tight and eventually Hlasko passes out! Podolski breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
