Silva kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Instrumental Core - The Angels Among Demons. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Demaestri is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Demaestri had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Silva defends it easily.
Silva slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Silva is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Lock and Roll Grappling Gym that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Demaestri is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Silva frees his head nicely. Oh but Demaestri has switched to an armbar! Silva is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Alves moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Piper lands a jab to Alves's midsection.
Alves misses with a series of wild punches.
Alves looks to land a left hand but Piper moved out of range nicely.
The fighters circling - Piper throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Alves half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Piper lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Bellic bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Materla's head backwards.

It looks like Michal Materla has been cut.

and Bellic counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Materla fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Materla tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bellic defends well and Materla ends up having to push Bellic into the ropes where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Bellic cracks Materla with an uppercut from hell and Materla crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Bellic's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
