The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swift misses with a body shot.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from McGordon is defended easily by Swift.
McGordon stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Swift.
Casey Swift seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Swift feints a jab promting McGordon to slip. Swift then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. McGordon slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Swift throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Swift misses with the combination.
Nice sprawl there from Swift as McGordon shoots in.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

As Swift tries to get set, McGordon tries to push him back and clinch up but Swift manages to avoid the attempt.

Swift has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Vale decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Frederiksen is staying active underneath Vale, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Vale gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Vale apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Vale clobbers Frederiksen with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
We've been informed that Frederiksen has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Vale closes this distance looking for a takedown but Frederiksen circles away.
Vale dives in and grabs Frederiksen's left leg, looking for a takedown. Frederiksen pushes down on Vale's head and hops out.
Vale pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Frederiksen back to the cage. Vale follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
