The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Konda gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Dredd is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

My spies in Hells Balls Grappling Academy inform me that Dredd has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kuro is defended easily by Kulkunen.
Kuro shoots in looking for a takedown but Kulkunen manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kuro's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
And Kulkunen tries to counter it with a takedown but Kuro pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Kuro shoots for a double leg takedown but Kulkunen sprawls well. He's pushed Kuro's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Kulkunen is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Kulkunen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ben Stone.
